GIVE A GIFT THAT TRANSFORMS LIVES

TASIS Dorado Fund

Contributions to the TASIS Dorado Fund, our school's Annual Fund, serve as unrestricted gifts that are critical to the success of our school and pave the way to meet institutional demands throughout the year. These gifts provide the school with the necessary authority to direct funds to our most pressing needs, including new opportunities and unexpected challenges. Furthermore, it reflects confidence in the leadership of TASIS Dorado and its vision for the future.

Gifts to the TASIS Dorado Fund allow for program expansion above and beyond our planned operations making way for significant innovation and investment across campus. Such gifts support our community via scholarship, professional development, programmatic innovation, facility improvement, and equipment upgrades, among other important needs. As we prepare for future generations, we rely on the generosity of our alumni, parents, and friends who support the school each year.

Capital Campaign

A Capital Campaign is a concerted effort to raise a substantial amount of funds for a specific project. Typically, a capital campaign takes place over an extended period of time and entails larger pledges to fund long-term projects. The addition of the  Louis R. Christiansen Performing Arts Center (PAC) was a direct result of a former TASIS Dorado Capital Campaign.

Currently, TASIS Dorado is closing in on its final fundraising goal of $3M in support of the Capital Campaign for the Wellness & Athletics Center.

Endowment

A gift to the Endowment is invested according to TASIS Dorado’s policies established by the Board of Directors Finance Committee. Funds are allocated based on the donor’s preference and guided by the School’s Endowment Spending policy.

A gift to the Endowment will directly impact the financial stability of TASIS Dorado’s future.

Maritere Matosantos Scholarship Fund

As an institution, TASIS Dorado remains a foundation for students to transform their energies and talents into making a positive difference in the world. Our community understands the importance of education with the mission of TASIS Dorado focused on educating the next generation of engaged global citizens and innovative, selfless leaders. Through the support of our generous donors and corporate sponsors, deserving students with limited resources receive access to exceptional education and an opportunity to succeed in our Upper School program.

Gifts to the Maritere Matosantos Scholarship Fund can be made as a one-time donation, a recurring annual donation, or an endowed donation through individual or corporate sponsorship. A gift to Maritere Matosantos Scholarship Fund will directly impact our efforts to support eager young students with limited resources who present a strong academic ability along with a drive to succeed.

Tim Howard “Excellence in Teaching Fund”

The Tim Howard "Excellence in Teaching" Award, established in honor of our second Head of School, aims to recognize individual educators or teams of teachers at TASIS Dorado. The School underscores the vital importance of molding the next generation and places great emphasis on high-quality teachers and the importance of talent development and subject matter expertise.

Drawing on revenue from this restricted, endowed fund, the award may be designated annually starting in FY2022 for a teacher or team of educators who demonstrate instructional growth, expertise, creativity, and innovation in their classrooms; who make learning engaging, vibrant, and relevant for students; and whose work and accomplishments are a model for other teachers. The award may be distributed in the form of a cash gift, funding for a passion project, professional learning, travel stipends, or continuing education.

The purpose of the award is to elevate the teaching profession; attract, retain, motivate and inspire great teachers at our School; allow them to share best educational practices with their colleagues; and further enhance the reputation of teachers at TASIS Dorado.

A gift to the Tim Howard Excellence in Teaching Fund will directly impact the School’s individual educator or team of educators.

Professional Development

Now more than ever, TASIS Dorado is deeply invested in the professional development of our faculty to ensure excellence in our educational program.

A gift to Professional Development will directly impact our efforts to support current TASIS Dorado teachers striving for excellence.

Financial Aid

As an institution, TASIS Dorado remains a foundation for students to transform their energies and talents into making a positive difference in the world. Our community understands the importance of education with the mission of TASIS Dorado focused on educating the next generation of engaged global citizens and innovative, selfless leaders.

A gift to Financial Aid will directly impact our efforts to support current TASIS Dorado students experiencing temporary financial hardship.

Planned Gifts

A planned gift to TASIS Dorado can impact our school far beyond one’s lifetime. A planned gift supports generations of students whose lives will be forever changed by their TD experience and who will forever change TASIS Dorado. There are many ways to make a gift that costs nothing today or helps with a tax-wise investment in one’s future and the future of our program. Planned gifts are customized gifts that can include appreciated securities (stocks, bonds), bequests, retirement plans, real estate and other assets, personal property, among others.

To discuss details for a planned gift, please contact the Gildren Bengoa, Director of Institutional Advancement at (787) 796-0440 Ext. 222 or bengoa.g@tasisdorado.com.

Special Projects

In any given year, Special Projects arise in the lifecycle of our school. For example, 2020 brought forth the need for face shields in the midst of the COVID-19 global pandemic. Using our existing resources and talents, TASIS Dorado’s STEAM Fab Lab joined the effort to produce face shields for healthcare professionals, vulnerable patients, and other affected frontline workers. As a community, TASIS Dorado raised over $5,200 and produced more than 3,000 face shields.

A gift to Special Projects will directly impact unforeseen and unique needs for our school and the community at large.
