Visual Arts Advanced 

Workshop for High School 
Current Grades 9-12 

The TASIS Dorado Advanced Visual Art Workshop is designed for ambitious high school students who have a strong interest in visual arts. The workshop focuses on studio areas of drawing, painting, printing, and mixed media, which are designed to help students deepen foundational skills and develop their creativity. Students engage in three hours of guided studio instruction per day. During this time, they will develop new skills, refine their technique and artistic expression, and expand their understanding of art and design.

Visual Arts Intensive Intermediate 

Workshop for Middle School 
Current Grades 6-8 

In this intensive, one-week Visual Arts workshop, students will develop fundamental art skills and expand their artistic expression, style, and visual vocabulary. Students will be guided and mentored by TASIS Dorado Upper School Arts teacher, Lourdes Rosa, and make use of the campus’s spacious studios and equipment as they learn and practice with a wide range of mediums that include collage, drawing, acrylic paint, watercolor paint, mixed media, and compositions among others. This course is suitable for students of varying degrees of experience. Previous drawing knowledge is required.

Explorations in Ceramics 

Workshop for Middle School  and High School

This intensive workshop covers a wide array of forming methods such as hand-building, coil, slap, and pinch. Students learn to build ceramic objects and are introduced to a variety of surface treatments that include texturize, imprints, glazing and under-glazing. Our ceramic studio is equipped with the proper tools and materials, including an electric kiln. Emphasis is placed on the use of clay as an expressive material.
