Lists of Workbooks and Supplemental Readings to be purchased by Secondary Division Students and Summer Reading Books for Elementary and Secondary Students for the 2018-2019 academic year

Dear Parents and Students of the TASIS Dorado Secondary School,

In Compliance with DACO regulations, by May 15 of each year, we must provide a list and prices of the paperback books and workbooks which students from grades 6 through 12 may need to buy as per their individual program for the upcoming academic year. Also, we are including summer reading books, which students from PPK to 12th grade may need to buy. We are committed to keeping prices at the most reasonable level of expense. As a service to our students, the school will gladly acquire enough copies of these books through a pre-order system and parents can authorize the billing to their school account or to a credit card for this expense. It will be the family’s choice whether to acquire these through the school or not. We feel that by having their own books and workbooks, our students can write, underline and take notes in them and can keep them for future use and reference.

During the school year, the Book and Materials Fee provides all required classroom materials, electronic books and hardbound textbooks, which are always increasing in cost. Students are expected to take good care of all classroom materials and books so that they may be used by other students in the future. Students who lose or damage these school-supplied textbooks and/or electronic books will be made responsible for their replacement.

Our policy on changing books from year to year, which students have to buy will be as follows: The school will review on an annual basis the non-reusable workbooks selected for student purchase by choosing the editions which best match the hardbound textbooks provided by the school. These workbooks tend to have a minimal cost. The other books purchased by students will be softcover/paperback books, all of the minimal cost. These softcover/paperbacks will be selected every year to assure the best match and best value for the individual courses. Students will be allowed to use second hand/used books in good condition.

We thank you for your interest in our school and we pledge to continue our efforts to offer to your/ our youngster(s) one of the finest college preparatory programs in the country.
