ENRIQUE RIVERA FERRAIUOLI '21 WINS BRONZE FOR PUERTO RICO IN RUSSIA
TASIS Dorado is incredibly proud to congratulate ENRIQUE RIVERA FERRAIUOLI, class of 2021, on winning a Bronze Medal for Puerto Rico in the 61st International Mathematical Olympiad in Russia (virtually) this weekend. IMO2020 is the largest and most prestigious of all of the international olympiads.
We also commend the remarkable work of TD math teacher Mr. José "Cheo" Santos, mentor and coach of Enrique since his 7th grade, for providing him with the support and challenge that he needed to achieve this extraordinary accomplishment. This medal represents Mr. Cheo's 7th while coaching for an IMO and his 3rd at TASIS Dorado. When asked about what this win meant for both of them, Mr. Cheo replied, "It's like the song from The Carpenters that went, "We've Only Just Begun! This is only the beginning of a beautiful journey for Enrique, professionally and personally; I'm quite proud of him."
Enrique, a familiar face at local and OMPR math competitions, was the sole delegate representing Puerto Rico at the last International Olympiad of Mathematics, held in the United Kingdom last year. This year, Team Puerto Rico obtained the bronze medal plus three honorable mentions. "The members of the IMO team worked hard and did very well. I am glad to have improved enough to receive the medal and look forward to representing Puerto Rico in the IMO next year." Enrique exclaimed excitedly.
