Cum Laude Society

The Cum Laude Society is an honor society that recognizes the academic excellence of students in independent schools. The articles of the Cum Laude Society state that each chapter may elect members of the college preparatory curriculum with an honor record. The articles further stipulate that each chapter shall determine the nature of what equates to an honor record. Each year, TASIS Dorado’s chapter will select up to 20% of the graduating class and up to 10% of the junior class. These students are expected to have the highest grades and to have enrolled in a diversified range of courses, mainly at the Honors and Advanced Placement levels. The Board of Regents of the Cum Laude Society also assumes the chapters will elect to membership only students who have demonstrated good character, honor, and integrity in all aspects of school life.

French & Italian Honor Societies

The French and Italian Honor Societies induct academically successful students in French or Italian III or AP, with a strong interest in promoting the French and Italian languages and cultures. Members present a very popular Franco-Italian night every year.

Model United Nations (MUN)

The Model UN Club is open to any students in 7th-12th Grades interested in local, national and international affairs. MUN students compete in league conferences approximately monthly, and TASIS Dorado hosts a conference annually. Each year approximately 15 students are selected to compete at the ILMUNC conference at UPENN or the NAIMUN conference at Georgetown University. MUN members elect a board.

Math Team

Puerto Rico has an extremely competitive series of math competitions, and the TASIS Dorado teams are very successful. Middle School and High School teams compete on the school circuit, and team members typically perform well in the Math Olympics sponsored by the UPR Mayaguez campus.
