Physical Education

Elementary PE

The Physical Education curriculum aims to extend and refine the motor skills, coordination, control and movement developed in the Early Childhood Program. Students are provided with opportunities to consolidate the early learning, to increase knowledge, experience, and creativity and gradually extend their abilities to tackle new and more complex tasks. Activities are divided into the areas of gymnastics, dance and movement, health-based fitness and games. The students are given the opportunity to develop the concepts of fair play, honest competition, and good sportsmanship and are encouraged to "manage" the spirit of competition (either within a team framework or as an individual) as to compete with themselves.

Secondary PE

Physical Education at the secondary level emphasizes individual responsibility for health and fitness as well as individual skills and team play. Health, fitness and teamwork are celebrated with an annual Field Day that takes place at the end of Spirit Week each year.
